What do I need to bring for my first class?

All your required to bring to your first class is a bottle of water and a towel. We provide everything else. We have intro gi’s available to wear for your first class.

How many times a week should I train?

We recommend training as often as you can. We currently offer 4 beginner classes per week. The more you train the quicker you will learn and develop a solid Jiu-Jitsu game.

Do I have to be fit to start?

NO! You do not have to be fit to start. We have students with different fitness levels. If you are currently lacking fitness then you have come to the right place. We guarantee your fitness will increase each and every class. You work at your own pace and if you need to rest you can.

Do I need to bring a Gi for my first class?

We supply intro gis so you don’t have to buy one to try our classes. We have various sizes and belts available.

Do I need previous martial arts experience?

No. You do not need any previous experience. Most of our Fundamental students have no previous experience. Starting with a clean slate is perfect.

When can I train in the Intermediate & No-Gi Classes?

Our intermediate and No-Gi Classes are for white belt 3 stripes and above (NO-GI class is at the discretion of the instructor). This is to protect not only yourself but other students. Watching fancy heel hooks on Youtube can be great but extremely dangerous if not done correctly and with control. Our students’ health is our number one priority.

What age do kids classes start from?

Our kids classes start from 5 years and upwards.

Is there parking available?

We have a large car park at the Mill if this is busy then staff at the mill will direct you on site.

How long does it take to get a blue belt?

Typically in Jiu-Jitsu, it takes on average of 2 years to receive a Blue Belt. If you train consistently and study outside of class times you could achieve your blue belt within 12-18 Months.
